The
Monroe County Bar Association's Lawyers Concerned for Lawyers Committee
is part of the New York State Bar's Lawyer
Assistance Program . Its focus is to offer assistance to those
suffering from alcoholism, drug addiction, mental stress, depression,
and/or other mental illnesses, comprised of volunteer attorneys,
some of whom have personal experience with these diseases.
The Committee works anonymously assisting attorneys and/or family
members and colleagues affected by these diseases, referring those
in need to competent professional help and self-help support groups.
Help can be accessed 24 hour/7 days a week through any member known
to the community or its hotline at (585) 234-1950.
The hotline is confidential. All communication with the Committee
is privileged pursuant to the Judiciary Law.
