HOW
THE SERVICE WORKS
Call
the Lawyer Referral Service, (585) 546-2130, Monday through
Friday,
9:30
a.m.-11:30 a.m. or 2:30-4:00 pm for
a referral to a lawyer.
The Lawyer Referral Service maintains a list of private lawyers
who have designated their specific areas of practice. They have
agreed to provide 30-minute consultations within their areas of
practice to answer any questions you may have, and to offer legal
advice. The advice can include: reviewing the terms and conditions
of a contractual agreement; advising you of your specific obligations
under the law; or explaining the process of moving a matter through
the court system. Whatever the case may be, LRS can usually find
someone who can speak knowledgeably on your matter of concern.
When you call the service, LRS staff will briefly discuss your legal
need with you to determine whether we can be of some assistance.
Upon determining that a referral to a private lawyer is appropriate,
we will refer you to the lawyer whose area(s) of practice most closely
fit your legal need. You will be provided with the name and telephone
number of the lawyer and instructed to contact the lawyer for a
consultation appointment in their office. After meeting with the
lawyer, all of your questions may be answered. However, further
services may be necessary and you may either choose to hire the
LRS lawyer to provide these services or seek additional counsel.
In any event, you are under no further obligation of any kind beyond
the initial consultation.
