Welcome
to the website of the Foundation of the Monroe County Bar.
Founded in 1951, the Foundation is the charitable face
of the Monroe County Bar Association, with a mission of
supporting the charitable, educational, civic and humane
purposes of the MCBA and its Center for Education.
Historically,
the Foundation has supported member activities and capital
costs and initiatives supporting the Association as well
as investing in community based projects that enhance the
community of Monroe County. The
Foundation has long supported civil legal services to the
poor including Empire Justice, Volunteer Legal Services
Project, Legal Aide, MCLAC.
The
Foundation has been a continuing supporter of the Sydney
Rubin Mock Trial Competition, the Dialogue on Freedom, the
People's Law School and other worthy programs. The Foundation,
along with the Association, helped found the Pre-trial Services
Corporation. Most recently, the Foundation has supported
the DEAFund and Minority Clerkship initiatives of the MCBA.
The Foundation is currently conducting its annual Raise
the Bar! fundraising campaign. As a result of attorney
contributions to last year's annual campaign, the Foundation
was able to fund a number of worthwhile programs and initiatives.
