Update: All cases pending in Supreme Court, Civil/Commercial Division are eligible for our free Court Mediation Program that provides mediation at no cost.  Alternatively, parties can retain a private mediator from the Court’s Mediator Panel at a reduced cost.  In addition to the traditional method of obtaining a referral to mediation through a conference with the assigned judge, we are now offering access to Court Mediation by filing the Consent to Mediation found on our website.  When the Consent is executed and filed in NYSCEF, the judge will automatically issue an Order of Referral to Mediation without the need for a conference.  The form and all ADR information are found on our website.

Press Release: Commission on Judicial Nomination is seeking recommendations and applications of persons who may be qualified to serve as an Associate Judge of the State’s highest Court, the Court of Appeals of the State of New York.  As you will see, a vacancy now exists on the Court due to the retirement of Associate Judge Paul G. Court Operations during COVID-19 Pandemic Event:
The Court has issued a General Order updating Court Operations and Access (12/8/2020).  Effective December 8, 2020, all civil and criminal jury trials are continued until February 24, 2021. All personal appearances are also continued unless the presiding judge deems a personal appearance essential. Appearances will be coordinated with the chambers staff and courtroom deputies assigned to a particular judge. Please contact chambers to determine the status of any matters you may have scheduled.

New York Courts Emergency  Alert Portal

Effective January 30, 2020, the NYS Unified Court System has initiated a new system to send out notifications about court closures and other USC emergencies. The New York Courts Emergency Portal will replace Twitter notifications. Among other new features, the portal will allow users to receive information about specific counties of their choosing and specify their preferred method of notification.

The new portal is hosted by NYAlert, a state public notification platform with a well-established record of reliable performance.
