Please see the following statement released on March 19, 2021 by the MCBA Board of Trustees:

The mission of the Monroe County Bar Association is to improve the quality and accessibility of justice; promote respect for and understanding of the law; through member services enhance professional growth, fulfillment, excellence, collegiality and diversity; and serve as the voice of the profession.

In recognition of this mission, and with heavy hearts, the Board of Trustees wishes to express its condemnation of hate and xenophobia in all its forms. Most recently, we have seen the rising tide of prejudice against Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. We urge individuals and organizations to speak out against such hate and violence, and join in support of our AAPI brothers and sisters.

For those interested in learning more about the experiences of the Asian American and Pacific Islanders, and responses to current events, the Levine Center to End Hate is presenting a three part series. Details can be found here: https://www.endhateroc.org/asian-matters.

In addition, the Asian American Bar Association of New York has published a report on anti-Asian violence. The report can be found at:
