Support Of Lawyers, All Concern Encouraged (SOLACE)
Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines solace as: (v) to give comfort to in grief or misfortune, and that’s exactly what SOLACE, a new pilot program sponsored by the MCBA, aims to do. The primary focus of SOLACE is engaging the legal profession’s vast networks of contacts to assist others when a sudden need arises.
SOLACE is a simple email-based network of people who are willing to tap their contacts to assist someone else in need. It is designed to assist any lawyer, judge, law firm, courthouse or bar association employee, or other member of the legal community and their families, within the MCBA geographical territory who suffers a loss or develops a particular need as a result of a sudden catastrophic event, injury, or illness.
SOLACE is administered on a pro bono basis by Leclair Korona Vahey Cole LLP. Please take a moment to review the information and FAQs in the links below.
If you want to participate and are an MCBA member, you do not need to do anything; you will automatically be placed on the email distribution list. If you are not an MCBA member, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org to be added to the distribution list. You will not be asked for money and you will not be flooded with emails!
If you need SOLACE’s help, please send an email to email@example.com. If you would like to volunteer to be a coordinator who is designated to receive SOLACE requests, please contact Paul Leclair. We want to hear from you!
